Description

The Department of Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech University is seeking for a highly-motivated individual for a PhD. assistantship in soil and environmental chemistry. The selected candidate will start the program during the summer 2015. Potential research areas include agricultural management practices impact on soil quality, chemical characterization of industrial wastes and amendments with emphasis on their environmental fate and reuse, trace metal chemistry and environmental quality, micronutrient chemistry, and soil moisture-fertility interactions in irrigated cotton in the semi-arid alkaline soils of the Southern High Plains.

Qualifications

Applicant must have a background in soil science or a related field, and good verbal and written communication skills. Selected candidate will also be assisting with the laboratory sections of fundamental soil science courses (as teaching assistant).
