Ph.D. Assistantship in Economic Development

An Economic Development Research Assistantship sponsored by the Louisiana State University (LSU) Graduate School is available to conduct research on identification of protein targets of dormancy-breaking chemicals in weedy rice. Superior students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Crop Physiology should apply for Fall 2014 admission.

Benefits include:

  • Stipend of $25,000/year for 4 years ($2,0/80/month)
  • Assistantship tuition exception.
  • Research expenses.
  • A student health insurance supplement of $350 for each fall and spring semesters.

At LSU, students are responsible for paying university fees, excepting the non-resident fee.
The selected candidate must maintain a 3.5 overall and semester GPA, and he/she will work under the guidance of Marc A. Cohn, Ph.D., and Z.Y. Chen, Ph.D.
