Graduate Assistantships in Horticulture

The Department of Horticulture at Virginia Tech (USA) offers several teaching and research graduate Assistantships for qualified students seeking programs for M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Programs include laboratory, greenhouse, and field work in areas related to horticulture, microbiology, and food processing. A B.S. degree in Horticulture and related areas (i.e., agronomy) is highly desirable for students seeking a M.S. degree program.

Requirements can vary a little depending upon faculty expectations about new students, however, students are welcome to submit the following documents (in English) for application:

  • Resume or C.V.
  • Letter of intent.
  • Transcripts of previous studies.
  • TOEFL scores (for international students).
  • GRE scores.
  • Three letters of recommendation).
  • Applications should be submitted by February 15, 2014.
