M.s. and Ph.D. Graduate Student Positions

We have three (3) projects in which we need to incorporate highly qualified students to conduct research. These projects are:

For the first project we are seeking for a M.S. or Ph.D. student; for the other two, we are seeking for M.S. students. The selection process will run until positions are filled.

Candidates profile:

Selected students are suspected to have some knowledge of soils, nutrient cycling, and the roots system. They should be proactive and flexible, showing willingness to undertake scientific approaches and to engage data analyses and develop scientific writing skills. Other assets will be also considered during the selection process, which include: A teamwork aptitude, ability to work independently and with others, a desire to present results in public, a 3.5 GPA or better, and a valid driver license and clean driving record/abstract.

Planned activities:

Field activities will be in Alberta, in both cropping and forest areas. Work will involve instrumentation to quantify nutrient fluxes, soil sampling, and plant responses. Laboratory work will involve novel instrumentation to describe the physical basis and metrics of soil properties and root responses.
