GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP
TURFGRASS SCIENCE
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences of Texas A&M University, specifically the Soil& Crop Sciences Department, has a Ph.D. Graduate Research Assistantship available. The selected student will focus his/her studies on the physical and biological factors of sand-capped golf course fairways and their effects on turfgrass performance. He/she will conduct research on spatial and temporal dynamics of water, nutrients, and salts, as well as characterize root development and associated impacts on drought resistance in sand-capped systems. This multi-year project is supported through a grant from the United States Golf Association Green Section.
The selected candidate will receive:
1. A monthly stipend.
2. Tuition and fees.
3. Medical insurance.
The project is designed for Ph.D. candidates; however, M.S. candidates with qualified skills will be also considered for this opportunity.
The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled with the selected candidate. Completion of the review process of application documents and acceptance to the graduate program at Texas A&M University is necessary to close the position. A start date no later than June 1 is preferred but not prerequisite.
