El prestigioso ranking que elabora anualmente la consultora inglesa Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) es una de las mediciones internacionales más reconocidas y utilizadas para comparar instituciones de educación superior de todo el mundo.
El ranking mundial de QS considera 6 indicadores con diferentes ponderaciones cada uno: reputación académica (40%), reputación entre empleadores (10%), razón profesor/alumno (20%), citaciones por profesor (20%), % de profesores internacionales (5%) y % de alumnos internacionales (5%).
Los indicadores de reputación están asociados a las encuestas aplicadas por QS a académicos y empleadores de todo el mundo. En la versión 2017 del ranking se consideraron más de 70.000 respuestas de académicos y más de 30.000 respuestas de empleadores de diversos países.
El QS Latin American University Ranking es reconocido por la Secretaría de Educación Superior, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (SENESCYT).
