Position:
PhD. Graduate Research Assistantship in Soil Management – Soil Health in Agronomic Systems.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will pursue interdisciplinary research, integrating soil physical, chemical, and biological properties to examine soil health and agronomic productivity. Research will contrast current national initiatives on soil health with soil factors germane to soybean and corn productivity in the Southeastern U.S. Specialization in nutrient management or soil physics is possible within the overall goals of research, depending on the candidate’s interests.
Presentation of research results for technical and non-technical audiences at local, regional, and national meetings will be an important component of training. All graduate research assistants participate in the Department’s teaching program.

Qualifications:
. M.S. in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, or closely related field.
. Experience in soil physics and/or nutrient management is preferred but not required.
. Demonstrated excellence in course work.
. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
